Dr. Shawnee Wakeman is a Research Associate in the Department of Educational Leadership at UNC Charlotte. Her research interest includes the relationship of the principal to the education of students with disabilities. She has served as a special education teacher, a middle school assistant principal, and a research assistant on several OSEP grants. Dr. Wakeman is currently involved in several publications related to accessing the general curriculum for students with disabilities and alternate assessment.
