Claudia Flowers is an associate professor in educational research and statistics at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She has over 60 publications in areas such as applied validity and reliability issues, differential item functioning, accessibility of websites, and research designs. She has published in Journal of Educational Measurement, Educational and Psychological Measurement, Applied Psychological Measurement, and Exceptional Children. Dr. Flowers lead a team of researchers who designed and evaluated the North Carolina Experienced Teachers Summative Evaluation. This system is currently being used statewide to evaluate teachers with four or more years of experience. In the past four years Dr. Flowers has teamed with Dr. Diane Browder and others to work on two OSEP grants on alternate assessments. Part of the grant activities included examining the alignment between alternate assessments and academic content standards.
