Part I: Overview, Terminology, Theory, and Research

   The purpose of Part I is to articulate principles of high quality assessment design, define a common terminology and language within the group, examine theoretical principles upon which sound assessment systems can be built and apply them to alternate assessments for students with the most significant cognitive disabilities.
